4 or so slates came off my roof in the gales and about 9 slates have been dislodged on the gable end of the roof. I have been quoted a fair sum from a roofer to do the work. I'm assuming my insurance quote will go up next year, if so by how much approx? The roofer will be charging £450 and my excess is £100. I pay approx £200 a year for my buildings insurance. Please advise if you know.

What happens when there is a loan on a house and no death insurance, and the house is being left to me?

My Mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. She is wanting to revise her will due to changes with in the family. She wants to leave me her house. There is a loan on the house that is "non-transferable" and there is no death insurance. Does anyone know how that would work? I feel so helpless not knowing answers for her! Thank You

Hi Im thinking about using my insurance to repair water damaged area at my current house, would this increase my house insurance cost, if i moved to a new house. Or would the insurance be only high if i use the same insurance provider?

Our family is being spied by Scottish & York Insurance company. Can somebody help me please?

Unfortunately I had a three car accidents and all of them were not my fault. Since I am not able to work, I am getting dissability payment. Since this time for over 7 years me and my family are being spied and chased by spies from Scottish & York Insurance Company. Our family can not take any more these mental tortures. Spies are calling our home 24 hours a day, sometimes it happens that we receive phone call from our family and does not matter if they call as from overseas or it is a local phone call but on our telephone display the same number is showing up, these means that our conversations are being listened by third party. These spies also follow us by cars and record us on cameras or other spying equipment. One of our neighbours is involved in spying. He has a bunch of cameras and other spying equipment attached to his house and his wife when she is going outside she is wearing wig or scarf and hat so nobody would recognize her on the street. Can you help me please.

Have you always payed your house insurance without another quote?

I had been with one company for 15 years for my house insurance. Decided to have other quotes this year as I always do with my car insurance.Got the same cover for £100.00 cheaper per annum with another company. Rang the company I was presently with....said they couldn't do me a better deal. ( well, could knock £10 off. Wow!!! Big deal ) Had been with them for 15 years and never claimed!!!!!! Who's the fool??? Get quotes everyone!!!! In answer to Rick J. Exactly the same cover. That's why it was so shocking to me. Just a note to everyone who is saying that the cover may not be the same. It is EXACTLY the same. Check the small print like I have. You never know, you may have been ripped off for years.
