4 or so slates came off my roof in the gales and about 9 slates have been dislodged on the gable end of the roof. I have been quoted a fair sum from a roofer to do the work. I'm assuming my insurance quote will go up next year, if so by how much approx? The roofer will be charging £450 and my excess is £100. I pay approx £200 a year for my buildings insurance. Please advise if you know.

What happens when there is a loan on a house and no death insurance, and the house is being left to me?

My Mom was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. She is wanting to revise her will due to changes with in the family. She wants to leave me her house. There is a loan on the house that is "non-transferable" and there is no death insurance. Does anyone know how that would work? I feel so helpless not knowing answers for her! Thank You

Hi Im thinking about using my insurance to repair water damaged area at my current house, would this increase my house insurance cost, if i moved to a new house. Or would the insurance be only high if i use the same insurance provider?
