I just read an article in msn that said if you have and own a vacant home that insuring that causes the rates to triple..I should hope that the law-enforcement of that community would protect that home just the same as if that home were occupied.

my father has life insurance that will pay off the house if he passes?

is that only if he passes acciedently ( like in a car crash or something) or is that also goes for if he passes cuz he got old or sick?

I have contracted a painter to paint the exterior of my house. He has no insurance, but has agreed to sign a release to not hold me responsible for any injury he incurs in the job. How should the release be worded? I have homeowners insurance. Is there anything else I have not considered?

Do I need to have a lawyer to lookover my house insurance plan?

I am not so sure that I understand it (as a matter of fact, I don't understand it!) Is there any way I can get it in plain english or should I just go for the lawyer ?
